Bloomsburg Field Hockey Defeats Mansfield

BLOOMSBURG – Buoyed by a balanced offensive attack, the Bloomsburg University Field Hockey team out-dueled Mansfield 4-1 Saturday afternoon at Bloomsburg.
Four different players got in the scoring column for the second-ranked Huskies who were dominant offensively, attempting 24 shots all while holding Mansfield to just two attempts. Maggie Bloskey (Danville/Danville) set the tempo for the entire game, scoring the opening goal 39 seconds into the contest.
Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) again led the way for the Huskies, taking eight shots and scoring her PSAC-best 28th goal of the season. Vanartsdalen also leads the nation in scoring for all divisions, averaging 4.36 points-per-game. Whitney Miller (Lancaster/Penn Manor) and Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) also added goals for the Huskies. Bloomsburg improves to 15-2 overall, 10-2 in the PSAC.
The Huskies return to action Wednesday at 4 p.m. when they face Shippensburg at All Sports Stadium.
